• Teaches as a Senior Lecturing Fellow at Duke Law School and acts as an advisor on business ethics for Duke’s Kenan Institute for Ethics.
• Practiced law since 1990, specializing in constitutional law, civil rights and
  municipal finance.
• Graduated from Brown University in 1985 and UNC Law School in 1990.
• Winner of the 2006 Raleigh-Apex NAACP Humanitarian of the Year Award.
• Winner of the 2003 Frank Porter Graham Award for civil liberties.
• Winner of the 2000 Defender of Justice Award for public policy research and advocacy.
• Ranked the 7th most effective member of the NC House of Representatives in 2007.

Personal

• Deborah has been married to Steve Wrinn since 1994.
• Deborah and Steve renovated an old house in Historic Boylan Heights.
• Deborah and Steve adopted Ralph, their dog, from the Wake County SPCA.
